Did You Know...
Did you know there are not many insurance companies out there
willing to insure pressure cleaners! The reason...there are obviously a
lot of really bad negligent operators out there. It is probably a
little difficult for most outsiders to appreciate, but pressure cleaning
in the wrong hands can be incredibly dangerous. First there is the
sheer force and volume of water to deal with. It only takes a split
second and lack of concentration to cross a surface not durable enough
to withstand the pre-determined pressure. Add to all this the fact that
typical pressure cleaners carry with them an assortment of detergents
and chemicals which may be designed to clean one surface, but may be
totally destructive to another! So you can easily see just with these
two short examples, why most insurance companies consider pressure
cleaners simply too high of a risk! The way a lot of operators attempt
to get around this is by being insured for maintenance or general
cleaning. From what we understand...cleaning and pressure cleaning are
two entirely different industries and the way most unfortunately will
find out, is at the time of claim! To protect yourself, ask to see the
service providers Certificate Of Currency!
When selecting a service operator we all love to base it on
price, which is fine..after all who doesn't love a bargain? But there
really should be a few other questions besides "how much?" You really
should ask for references...after all, what are you getting for your
money. Does history tell you the quality of this operators clean is
excellent, average or poor? When we say references, we don't mean made
up testimonials either! We mean real references from real industry
professionals.
